Brooklyn Community Board 7 (CB7 website) is where we can have a voice in community-wide planning and government coordination. Applications are being accepted until February 19, 2024 for membership in our community board.
Application for 2024 community board:
Being a Community Board member is a 2-year commitment of a few hours a month. Most meetings are in the evening, and are generally held at the Community Board offices at 4201 4th Ave.
When we began organizing in Windsor Terrace to stop the proposed rezoning of Arrow Linen on
Prospect Avenue and the planned construction of two 13-story residential towers on the site, we really didn’t know our political representatives – Shahana Hanif, Antonio Reynoso, Community Board 7 and one of us knew Robert Carroll.
Our neighbors, have turned out in force to support this effort, and it’s clear that some of us would like to participate in planning the future of our communities. Our Community Board is a place where we can directly participate in the process of government and planning, and where we can have a say in issues affecting the quality of life in Windsor Terrace and South Slope.
Three of us already have applied for to join the Community Board, and one of us is already on the Land Use committee.
If you have space in your life to make a commitment and contribute to the work of one
of the committees of the Community Board while representing your community on the issue or your field of interest, please check the list of Brooklyn Community Board 7 Committees.
